By That Bright Source...

The Sacred Heart no phantom is
Nor phantasy.
By that bright Source man lays his load,
In that vast Room finds refuge there,
In calm may feast,
Till with flung arms the Christ draws nigh.

Novena for Evangelism and Witness

The priests and people of St Mary's will be joining in the national Week of Prayer from Fri 6 May until Sat 14 May. Novena prayers will be said privately and intercessions offered at the daily Mass. On Friday, 13 May, there will be a dedicated time of prayer with Exposition from 5pm, Rosary at 5.30pm, Vespers at 6pm, and Mass at 6.30pm.

Almighty and heavenly Father, we pray for the growth of the Diocese of Peterborough and of the Richborough Episcopal Area. Through your Holy Spirit may we grow in ministry, witness and love, that more people may know your Son, and in our lives and communities your Kingdom come. Amen.

Heavenly Father, your Son Jesus Christ has taught us to be merciful, even as you are merciful. Shine the light of your countenance on us and we shall be saved. Send us your Holy Spirit to consecrate this Jubilee as a year of mercy and grace. Give to your Church renewed enthusiasm that she may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and restore sight to the blind. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
